Kanae Matsumoto, Soprano
was born in Chiba, Japan.
She received her singing degree from the Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo.
She completed her skills in cooperation with Ricardo Bartra, and later on with Anja Jung in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany.
During that time she took part in various international master classes. Most important for her were those of KS Prof. Regina Werner-Dietrich and Montserrat Caballé.
Hans-Josef Kasper and Dimitra Theodossiou gave her more musical inspirations.

At the beginning of her career, she appeared in several cities as a colouratura soprano, including Verdi "La Traviata" (Violetta) and Donizetti "Lucia di Lammamoor" (Lucia). Over the years, her voice has developed in the direction of a lirico spinto soprano, so that roles such as Puccini "Madama Butterfly" (Cio-Cio-san) are now part of her repertoire.
She sang Puccini "Suor Angelica" (Suor Angelica) at a music festival in Lucca, Italy (Puccini's home town).
She has sung as a soloist in several church concerts, for example Fauré
"Requiem" and Mendelssohn "Elias", as well as in a commemorative mass in Freiburg cathedral.
She is also active as a concert singer in different countries. Among other things with opera concerts and song recitals with various themes and concepts.
At the moment she is living in Bad Krozingen, Germany.
